Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 12:00 PM until 1:00 PMCentral Standard Time UTC -06:00

Presenter: David Ness, Student Counselling Centre
Being alive means you will experience stress. Being a graduate student means you will be stressed at times by your program of study as well as other things in life (e.g., the COVID-19 pandemic, the faculty strike). You cannot avoid stress but you can always enhance the way you cope with it.

This workshop provides an opportunity for you to enhance your coping strategies. You will be provided with practical, empirically supported strategies for managing stress well and materials will be shared with participants following the session. The session will be interactive and will include practice of some stress management strategies. Effective management of stress will help you in all areas of life including your studies: research has demonstrated that high stress makes understanding complex concepts more difficult and interferes with creativity and efficiency.

This session will be offered via Zoom and participants are required to have their video turned on to support safety in the space and promote participation.

Registration is no longer available because the registration deadline has passed.
